Darren Cunningham, the proud owner of Urban Timber Reclaimed Wood Co.
Darren’s passion for reclaimed wood, working alongside his family, and his creative mind are what have driven his business to success. When his head is not
in the clouds, he’s using it to create unique and leading edge designs. Some of the designs created at Urban Timber have
been brought to life with the work of Holly Carmichael and Charlie McCallum.
Darren wants his customers to know who is behind the scenes, which is one of the reason Forge & Grain has come to be. Darren along with Urban Timber is excited to be a part of Forge & Grain and to introduce you to, Holly & “Chuck”.
Holly Carmichael, comes to Forge and Grain with an arsenal of artistic talents. Recognized as one of the best wood artisans in Western Canada, Holly also runs the
only all female wood shop in the country (or so she tells us…). She loves the “behind
the scenes” work so much, it’s tough to get this humble woman into the spotlight!
Forge & Grain is the opportunity to take her craft to the center stage and showcase some of the coolest slab collaborations on the planet!
Chuck…the welder, but also a father, a craftsman, and a Harley enthusiast. He also
enjoys an ice-cold beer on a hot summer day. Chuck’s first project with Urban
Timber was a mantel rack and barn door
hardware… however that soon evolved into some of the most unique custom table
bases we’ve ever seen. Starting with a simple rectangular structure, to I beam trestles,
and of course the infamous “boxcar” leg.
Always up for a challenge to take things to the next level is what makes Chuck an
excellent tradesman and an integral part of Forge & Grain.
